Four Miles
And it’s hilly as all get out. Perhaps I’ll take the camera with me one of these times to take pictures. The hills are mostly pretty quick, but there’s a few good flat spots. The worst part is that it’s broken up by roadways with stop signs, so you’re constantly starting / stopping / sprinting / etc. At least 90% of the ride there’s a good bit of torque on the crank. It’s a good run, really. Round trip now I’m about 1/2 way to the Wal-Mart by road. If I ran on the packed dirt that will be paved within the next few months, I’d be to the wal-mart by now. The goal is to be able to bike to a decent source of caffeine. Heh. Heh.
I wasn’t sure if I should go further today or not, considering how nicely my legs were already burning. It’s the good kind of burn though, so I figued I’d push it. I had an eaiser time getting up the stairs tonight even though I went a bit further. As I recall from way back when, my legs would hurt for the first few days or week then they’d toughen up to it and just end up getting tired… It’s been too long though for me to remember. The weather is really playing along nicely right now. The last two days it’s been in the upper 70′s in the shade, low 80′s in the sun by the time I get home.
