Progress, slow but progress…
Spent seven hours tracking down one bug / trying to get something new to work. I tried to go to sleep last night, but kept thinking about it. After laying in bed for an hour I had it. I got up, I fixed it. I went back to sleep… it was 2:30 by that time.
So this morning I got up and kept working on things… I still am. As a side effect of fixing the bug last night, graphics got even smoother (yet again). This time, I decided to break out the DV camera to record a bit. I’ve got an LCD display, so thankfully I can record without flicker. Remember that capture a few weeks ago of Wireframe demo 2? That BeScreenCapture movie was pretty accurate in how slow (fast) things were moving at that time.
Behold: WireFrame example 2 as of this morning (~3.5 MB divx) This is less screen-flicker than occurs for me when I run this under Windows 2000.
I had hoped to have more to report at this point, but I’m still working on it. I’m mostly in a bug-fixing mode right now. I want it to be more stable before I move on much further. There’s still some pretty nasty bugs, and many of the AWT components don’t seem to behave quite properly. I think Andrew has some event changes that he needs to commit… although I’m not sure.

What viewer can you use to view this? I am trying VCL 0.8.1, I just get the title, then it stops.

I have the same problem on Windows. It seems you uploaded the wrong file or something.

You obviously fixed it in the meantime, since it plays fine here even in Be’s MediaPlayer. Looks nice :-)

Yes, I fixed it. My wi-fi has been extremely SLOW the last week or so. I’ll have to call the apartment management again to get them to call up the ISP so they’ll reset the AP on my buildings roof… Gah.
Anyhow, yes, I’ve re-uploaded the movie, sorry about the problem. Seems there were some errors from uploading the last one.
