WalterCon ‘05 - Demo Footage

As posted on HaikuNews, here’s a video of some demo footage from WalterCon 2005.

I managed to film portions of Michael Phipps demonstrating Haiku on his mini-itx frankenstine of a box, and Andrew Bachmann abusing the Java port.

Unfortunately, I didn’t get any of the other cool happening, or engrossing conversation that took place. At some point I decided to drop the camera and take a more paticipatory role.

Aside from the oohhh and awwwe moments in the conference room, I found the most enjoyable moments from WalterCon 05 when we were just sitting around running to and from the buffetts. A nice long table with 20 or so people, some good food, and you’re bound to have a good time. WalterCon certainly was.

I can’t wait for next year! I vote we take the show on the road to the east coast next time.

Hi Bryan! I very much enjoyed the video you shot. Too bad the other things weren’t documented or will they be?

About the video, is it possible you’d made a version with a higher resolution available? I would like to see more details.
To save bandwidth and avoid slashdot effect you can offer it as a torrent.

    Thanks

PS: Java looks really good, especially the wireframe (or should I capitalize ; ) ? ) demo’s. Is there anything available for testing?

Don’t you know that haiku r2, java 1.5, flash mx, and the AI are only available to those who go to waltercon ?

I’m really enjoying R2 right this second.

    Oh it’s soooo gooooooood.

    Hey Mike!

No doubt, you’re developing new applications using the second release of my IDE, also :P

    Indeed

Sorry I didn’t get more stuff filmed. Sure I can make something with higher res. I’ll see if HaikuNews will host the torrent. I think they will, they’re cool like that.

Just finally watched it (without sound: need to get around to hooking up the speakers on my main computer here) after downloading a copy from Scanty on BeShare. I immediately dubbed it the “The Blair Witch Haiku Project” :P

I guess I’ll have to go stand in the corner.
