The news that’s slowly trickling out of Mississippi isn’t good. Wow.

Jackson saw hurricane force winds, and it’s 100 miles inland. The friends I have in Jackson are without power, possibly for another two weeks. There’s no fresh water, there’s no electricity, and it’s bloody hot in the Mississippi summer. Not a good situation. Not a good situation at all.

Luckily, everyone I know came through with only minor property damage. Downed trees, power lines, etc. It’s an inconvenience compared to the people of the gulf coast.

I’m still hoping my apartment is intact.

Update It is. Whew.
