Rollercoasters rock. No sleep sucks.
Saturday I went to Kings Island and had a blast. The girl and I rode a bunch of rollercoasters, some of them twice, and we even got to tackle The Beast in the rain! Fun times.
I was whipped though. After not sleeping thursday night, I was kept awake nearly all night Friday by someone in the room snoring like they were going at the Amazon forest with a billion cyborg-army men with chainsaw forearms. There were six adults and two kids spread across two adjoining rooms. Kylene was in the room with her sister, brother in law, and their two kids. I would have paid good money to sleep on the floor in that room. I would have been able to sleep.
Seriously, I had my Shure e3’s & the iPod at nearly half volume, and still heard a lot of ’snoooggggggggggggrrrrrrggggg’ ’snoooooogggggggrrrrrrrrggggg’.
I won’t go into anymore details. I’ll just leave it at I was totally unable to sleep.
So I went to an amusement park on three hours of sleep over two days, and had a remarkably good time. Babies don’t sleep as soundly as I did Saturday night.
Since being home, I’ve replaced the ceiling fan in the office with a new one (this one dosen’t have any bad bearings) that I got on clearance. I’ve cleaned up the office a bit, and reorganized some of the innards of the computers I’ve got. I’m planning on getting back to the bathroom tonight if possible. I’m pretty sure the walls just need another coat of grey paint to block the blue / purple from soaking through underneath.
If I can get those walls to be grey, then I’ll be very – very happy.

Snoring and sleep apnea are often present in the same person: if they snore, there’s a high chance they also have sleep apnea. If you hear them stop breathing for brief (and sometimes not so brief) periods of time, that’s sleep apnea, something that can often be treated surgically. Being overweight greatly increases the chance of obstructive sleep apnea, which happens when tissue gets in the way of proper airflow. Sleep apnea usually has a lot of health problems associated with it, and if you know its there, it can be of great benefit to all to have it treated.
As annoying as it is to listen to snoring while trying to sleep, chances are you’d manage to get accustomed to it and sleep through it, at least when you’re ready to sleep. I know: I’ve grown up around heavy and loud snorers with sleep apnea, and I’ve caught myself sometimes, too.
