The UPS lives!

The new PS-670 batteries came in today!

I plopped them in the UPS, let it charge for a few minutes, and then bravely yanked the cord out of the wall!

It worked! For the first time that I can remember, the UPS lost AC, and the server stayed on!!!

I’m a little bit excited here. :-)

    nice. We got a UPS for our server, router, and modem. I need to get a new box though with raid5 :(

    Heheh. my box has software RAID-5 configured.

    Unfortunately, the valinux backplane made the drives invisible to a MEGARAID card that was capable of Hardware RAID-5, so it wouldn’t work in that box. Talk about a bummer.
