YAY! Holiday!

So it’s a Holiday evening, and I’ve been busy.

Tomorrow will no doubt be busy as well. I’ll be finishing up a project here for the house, possibly starting (and hopefully finishing) another one, getting ready for 350′ of trim to be delivered on Saturday morning, mowing the lawn, and hopefully being able to clean up a portion of the office.

It all depends on how much time I actually have. :-)

As for the project I’ll be finishing up, it doesn’t have much left to do on it, and I’ll be doing a full write up for woodworkingcheap.com. It’s my first attempt at using dimensional lumber as a cheap alternative to pre-faced and dimensioned boards. It’s super cheap compared to the alternatives, and I recycled quite a few feet of the old window casing that I planed down to be flat.

We recycle, and to keep our recyclables separate from our normal trash, we currently just pile it up on the floor of the garage. You can imagine that’s not exactly the best solution. This project is a wall-mounted bin, that will be secured to the wall with hinges, chain, and a few latches. It’s a pretty neat solution — I think. We’ll see how it all works out once I have it done.

Pictures will ensue, rest assured.
