FalterCon 2007, SF August 11th.

Location to be determined. I’m still getting responses, and figure that already we’ve got at least four people who’ll be there. Spread the word.

I’m no longer subscribed to the generic openbeos list, so if someone feels like posting there, it’d be appreciated.

Keep in mind, the name is all in good fun. It was just too easy. :-D

Darkwyrm and Michael Phipps have their excuses, nay, explanations, posted. Basically, it was said that everything was too expensive and no one was going. The Chamber of Commerce would only contact 3 hotels and the hotel wanted payment by the 25th.

Plus my short e-mail to darkwyrm got caught in google’s spam filter, but it was the only one.

Did you see my fake waltercon shirt. I think I’ll whip up something for this little shindig.

P.S. Did you think I made up my remark about tours of former opium dens ? There’s no way I’d mention it if it wasn’t something to be done.

May I suggest a warped T-Shirt design that has W crossed out, and an F that has the descending line end in a noose around Walter’s neck? :)

Something to consider: doing it via Cafe Press would be a pretty good way to make it an “as you like it” purchase that doesn’t end up with wasted money or shirts.

The crossed out W replaced with F occurred to me also! ;)

I was also thinking someone should make a web banner similar to the official WalterCon 2007 version…

I was going to have an F fall on Michael Phipps.

I think my new sidebar image is enough, don’t you? c’mon guys, people make mistakes.

I’m making fun of the -situation-, because if you go back just a few months on the obos mailing list, I was WARNING that something like this would happen, and that people need LOTS of advance PR to attend something like this, let alone to pull it off presenting properly.

I appreciate the effort, but it just doesn’t seem to have any basis in reality.

At least I get a nice vacation out of it.
