Down the Home Stretch

I’m nearly completely finished with the scroll saw restoration.

I just need to get a new bulb for the lamp, clean up the lamp housing and bolts that hold it on, and I’m done.

The saw itself is sitting on the garage floor, completely repainted, re-assembled, and looking mighty fine. There are a few things I’ve learned and I’d do differently if I did this again. Namely, I’d use the electrolysis rust removal method far sooner in the process, get a five gallon bucket with a huge cathode, and let it run for a few days with all the parts strung up.

I’ll post pictures, and finish up the static page on the scroll saw (it’s in draft mode right now I believe) tonight. I should also be able to finish up the lamp holder this evening as well.

Then I need to clean up the garage and try to get to the point I can fit a car in there again. :-)

I’ve posted a page dedicated to this project. It’s now listed to the right, under “Machines”.
