Cabinet 2 has a back & a frame.

I got home around 8:50 tonight, sat around until about 9:30 watching Mythbusters blow up stuff while the radiator in the garage warmed up the work area.

After that, I went out to the garage and made some sawdust.

Both cabinets are at the same stage now. Carcass, back, and frame all assembled and glued.

The beauty of this size cabinet is that you can use a 3.5″ wide, 8′ long piece of pine, rip it to 2.5″ to use for the door frames, and then use the leftover 7/8″ wide piece (assuming a blade kerf of 1/8″) for the face frame. Two 8′ long pieces gives you just enough wiggle-room to frame the whole cabinet. It’s beautiful, I tell you.

I do have to go pick up another hunk of OSB, or luan for the door panels. Bummer. Another $6, after tax. Perhaps tomorrow…

In the good news department, the miter saw I got at Christmas from my father in law is AWESOME. It actually cuts square!
