Cabinet Update: Happy Easter.
I have both cabinets fully assembled, and sitting in the garage. They’re awaiting “the great shelving clean-up” to begin. That’s fairly likely to happen tomorrow. Possibly Monday. I feel like taking a day off.
I was going to start cutting the plywood for the boxes that go into the cabinets (storage boxes, for categorized stuff) tonight, but a special order came up.
I got a call this morning on our way to Kylene’s grandmothers house in Greensburg from one of the church elders, asking if I could make a five-foot tall (or so) cross for the children’s classes tomorrow. No problem-o.
Procedure:
- Trip to Home-Depot to purchase a…
- $7 4″x4″x8′ cut into a 5′ and 3′ lengths.
- Spend one hour in the shop cutting a half-lap joint and round-over all edges with a router.
- Sand all faces with the belt sander.
It took about an hour (I had to layout the half-lap) and I was planning things out as I went. I’ve got a perfect specimen of a small-scale cross that won’t give splinters to curious little fingers. Perfect for a children’s class.
So happy Easter everyone. God Bless.
