From Jointer Cabinet to Nursery Time
The Jointer cabinet is essentially done. At least, it works as it is right now. I need to cut and install the shelves, paint, and get some drawer and door pulls on it someday, but functionally right now, it’s just fine. There’s some fine-adjustments that I should make to the drawers too.
All this will have to wait for another day.
I have to get the nursery painted. This week.
I got just about everything out of the room this weekend. I’ve got a lot of things up for sale on craigslist. We’re going to have some boxes of ‘office supplies’ and things floating around the house for a while until we get some decent office-type furniture for the great room. One thing I don’t like about this house is that it has hardly any storage. There’s really no place to put things out of the way, out of site, etc. This is something that will -have- to change as we get a mobile toddler in the next year. The lumber store down the road will probably know me by name by the time this is all over. :-D
Tonight I’m hoping to get home, be able to clean out the rest of the room, yank the old trim off the walls, prep the walls for painting (fill dents, etc.) and if all goes well I might even manage to get the ceiling painted tonight. That would be awesome.
We had to turn on the heat today for the first time. It was 59 degrees inside when we woke up this morning. We tried to let the dog sleep in her own bed last night, but she woke Kylene up at about 2AM crying. She was COLD. She ran to our bedroom and dove under the blankets, where she spent most of the night. Poor Poly.
