The ceiling looks fine (so far), and we don’t see any reason to re-paint it.

I spent the night cleaning out the room the rest of the way, tore out the old (nasty colored) trim, filled all the holes in the walls, and took off the outlet faceplates. Tomorrow we sand, vacuum, and paint!
