Appliances, Cabinet Doors, Craigslist, and Me.
We got the matching dryer to the new washing machine I bought at Christmas. After tax, we paid less than the 20% off sale price of the dryer, and got the stack kit and door reversal kits. Yeah. After tax we beat the pre-tax sale price. Of course, we had a stack of cash when we walked in the door, made sure we called and worked with the same sales guy I had haggled the snot out of in December, and didn’t have to work nearly as hard this time for a win-win deal. They still got a good profit on the item, and we got what we needed at a price we could afford, and more importantly, were willing to pay.
I’ve got all the ‘large’ cabinet doors for the kitchen glued up. I need to trim the ends, final sand the frames, stain & polyurethane. It’s going to take some time.
We sold the old washer and dryer, the old dishwasher (everything still ‘works’), and Moose and Squirrel (the old 2U servers that hosted this site) this weekend. That got rid of a lot of stuff taking up space in the garage, and turned it into cash in our hands. Even if we did sell them at crazy low prices. It got them out of the garage. The servers were a fair price for all the stuff I had in them. Not to mention the box of ‘goodies’ that had two or three hardware SCSI2 raid cards. Sheesh. That was a steal.
So looking at my garage that has some of the floor space back, I got inspired. I spent a few hours yesterday cut
