Let the Polyurethane Fly!
Over the last month or so I’ve been building shaker style cabinet doors to finalize the kitchen cabinet refacing I started more than two years ago. (I know… I know…) I have 11 of the door fronts all assembled, glued, sanded, and as of yesterday — stained. Tonight I start spraying polyurethane! Finally.
I’ve been working toward this for two weeks, but keep getting side-tracked, interrupted, or otherwise detained by a charming little girl that wants my attention. The little stinker.
So by next weekend, I should be done with 11 of the cabinet doors, which leaves three door panels, and (I think) 7 drawer fronts. I should have all the wood I need to finish this up on-hand, I just need to finish up spraying the polyurethane on this batch, get the tools back out, make some dust, and then start all over with the finishing again. Since the drawers are significantly smaller, the next batch of doors shouldn’t take quite as long… in theory.
Either way, I need to get this done so I can move on to other projects. The weather is getting nice outside, and I need to start tending the yard. I also have some closets that need some serious love.
