Good Books Need a Good Home

As I was cleaning out my office, I ran across some books.

I got the Be Developers Guide in 2001 off a clearance rack at a Media Play store in Pittsburgh.
I was given the Advanced Topics and Release 3 user guide at WalterCon 2004. Thanks Deej! I enjoyed them.

So it begins. And with a new, stronger start.
The JDK 1.4.2 port to BeOS R5 is dead. It has been for some time (over two years now) and I’m not too saddened by that.

Trying to run on Haiku exposes a flaw. How incredible.

So I tried to run the last build I made of JRE 1.4.2 for BeOS R5 on a nightly build of Haiku tonight.
It failed to resolve the symbol set_signal_stack(). Apparently, we’re missing that one in the kernel. What a shame. I’ll have to poke Axel, file a bug, and see if we can get it [...]
