Software
I’m one of those lucky people that gets paid to do something they normally enjoy. It’s a bit different at work. There I have to deal with the office politics, deadlines, insane demands from bosses and customers, and focus on delivering ‘good enough’ tools at a minimal cost. When I’m not at work and have the itch to code, that’s when it gets really fun. Having a need for yourself or someone you know, and being able to build a tool that helps them. That’s fun. Coming up with a question about weather or not you can accomplish something in software, adding functionality to an existing system, and just the raw challenge of coming up with the best way of doing something. That’s fun.
You’ll find stashed away here some of the (not-so-great) programs, utilities, or what not that I’ve written to do one thing or another.
I tend to start a lot of projects that never get finished for one reason or another. Most often it’s because of a clear need, or total lack of ambition.
You may not find much here in the way of usable software. The last few years I’ve focused a lot of energy on some collaborative efforts. Java for BeOS through beunited.org, and I’m still trying to find where I can code on Haiku.
All the software you’ll find here is free to use. Where possible, the source-code is available.
