Children’s Table & Chairs
Christmas 2011, I built four Children’s chairs and a matching table.
The chair seats are 11 1/2″ high, which should make them the right size up to about 6 – 7 years old. I figure we’ll get about four years worth of good hard play out of them.
The table top is 3/4″ particle-board (subfloor underlayment) painted with three coats of magnetic primer and three coats of white-board paint. Yes, they can write on the magnetic table.
I started off making the four chairs (which I designed myself!) knowing they’d be the hardest part. Kylene helped by painting the table top, and the day before Christmas I finished spraying the water-based poly finish at 4:00 PM. Whew. That was close.
